Panel discussion ISLAY

Magfest brings together a panel of talented individuals with an insight into how freelancers can survive and thrive in today’s media landscape. They’ll be talking about the nuts and bolts of how to make it work – how you get paid, how to deal with any issues, how you put together a schedule of work to make a proper wage. They’ll be offering advice on the challenges of constantly trying to pitch ideas, make contacts, work out your taxes, and how to stay motivated while working mainly from home.

Our panel have worked for titles including The Guardian, the BBC, Uncut, The LA Review of Books the Glasgow Herald, The Belfast Telegraph, The Big Issue, The List, The Scotsman, and more.
